Introduction
Challenger brand CityFibre is transforming the way Britain connects. Their full fibre infrastructure is giving people access to the superfast broadband that will boost businesses and revitalise the economy.
The Challenge
With £4bn of investment and an 8 million premises rollout plan, CityFibre needed talented people to join their Delivery function and design, build and deliver Gigabit Cities across the UK. We provided a full service recruitment solution, starting with hands-on recruitment support; direct sourcing, screening CVs, and interviewing candidates. Our Creative and Digital Marketing teams developed a highly-targeted digital attraction campaign to raise awareness of CityFibre as a brand, showcase the opportunities available to candidates and allow them to easily apply and register their details.
The Solution
Prior to Talent Works coming on board, CityFibre was heavily reliant on external agencies for hiring, with over 80% of vacancies being filled by external recruiters. We helped reduce this to just 16%. From January 2020 we started embedding ourselves into CityFibre’s recruitment team, setting up a brand new process and adopting a multi-channel recruitment strategy. Just 6 weeks after joining forces with CityFibre, we made our first hires.
Results
Our dedicated team of 5 recruiters and 2 coordinators achieve on average 30 hires a month. This is due to their understanding of the roles, their effective pipelining of talent and their ability to quickly identify opportunities within the business.
Our attraction campaign helped to raise CityFibre’s profile – we saw over 88,000 visitors on our landing pages over the campaign period. During the course of the partnership, we have also worked with CityFibre to develop, create and activate their employer brand in a more structured way to better support their long-term recruitment and retention needs.
We continue to work with CityFibre as part of a long-term RPO. From 2023 onwards, Talent Works has responsibility for attraction and recruitment across all of their divisions.
